HVAC Contractor in Windsor

Heating, cooling, gas and custom sheet metal from a Windsor shop that has been in the trade for more than 30 years. One contractor for the whole job, from the furnace to the last seam of ductwork.

Local Shop

Based on Pelissier Street

Mike Deez Metal Contractors works out of its own shop at 1429 Pelissier Street in Windsor. That is where the galvanized steel gets cut and bent, where contractors pick up their fittings, and where our trucks head out to homes across the city.

Being a Windsor shop matters for more than drive time. The houses here have their own quirks, the weather puts its own stress on heating and cooling equipment, and the ductwork in older homes is rarely standard. A contractor who can build the metal on site in the city can fix those problems instead of working around them.

MDMC is TSSA registered for gas work, bonded and insured, and holds an A+ rating with the BBB.

Local Conditions

What Windsor Homes Need

Hot, humid summers

Windsor is the southernmost city in Canada and has some of the hottest, most humid summers in the country. Air conditioning here has to remove moisture as well as heat. An oversized unit that cools fast and shuts off leaves the house damp. Sizing and airflow come first.

Milder winters

Winters in Windsor are milder than most of Ontario, but still bring long stretches below freezing. That makes the city a good fit for heat pumps, often paired with a gas furnace that takes over on the coldest nights.

Older housing

Many Windsor neighbourhoods, from Walkerville to Sandwich to the older streets near downtown, have homes built long before modern HVAC. Ductwork in these houses is often undersized, patched or missing. Some have no ducts at all, which is where mini splits and custom duct runs come in.

Newer subdivisions

Newer parts of the city, like South Windsor, Forest Glade and East Riverside, have tighter homes that need proper ventilation. HRVs and ERVs help keep the air fresh without losing heat.

Permits and Rules

Done the Right Way

All gas work in Ontario falls under the Technical Standards and Safety Authority, the TSSA. Only a registered contractor using certified gas technicians may install or connect gas appliances. MDMC is TSSA registered.

Some HVAC jobs in Windsor also need a building permit from the City, especially new ductwork systems, additions and major renovations. We tell you at the home visit if your job needs one, and what is involved.

Following the rules protects you when you sell the house, when you make an insurance claim, and every day the equipment runs.
